چکیده

This paper presents a novel approach developed for the measurement of the power reflectance of metal meshes and wire grids using a quasi-optical resonator. It is based on the reconstruction of a grid’s reflectance from the resonance curve of a quasi-optical resonator. The model of the resonator loaded by a mesh has been developed to provide direct reconstruction of its reflectance. A comparison of the measured results with data obtained in free-space measurements has shown good agreement. Examples of reflectance measurements of both conventional and twin-shaped meshes are presented to illustrate the technique suggested. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Analytical Study of Optical Bi-Stability of a Single-Bus Resonator Based on InGaAs Micro-Ring Array

In this paper, for the first time to our knowledge, we investigate the optical bi-stability in a compact parallel array of micro- ring resonators with 5μm radius, induced by optical nonlinearity. Due to the nature of perfect light confinement, resonance and accumulation process in a ring resonator, optical nonlinear effects, even at small optical power of a few milliwatts in this structure are ...

Measurement of the complex permittivity of low loss polymer powders in the millimeter-wave range.

An improved measurement method of complex permittivity of low loss polymer powders is suggested. The measurements are done in the mm-wave range using a quasi optical resonator. The 2-D corrugated mode exciter is employed to improve suppression of undesirable higher modes. The model used for reconstructing complex permittivity takes into account ohm losses of metal mesh coupling that provide bet...

A New Design of Photonic Crystal Filter and Power Splitter Based on Ring Resonators

Here, we propose an optical filter and an optical power splitter based on two-dimensionalphotonic crystal all circular ring resonators. These structures are made of a square lattice ofsilicon rods with the refractive index n1=3.464 surrounded by air (with refractive indexn2=1). First, we have designed the filter and by using that, we designed a power splitter. Thetransmission efficiency and Qua...
